The 35

Milford Fire Company’s first ever new apparatus, the 1935 American LaFrance 400 Series. Purchased by the Borough for the Fire Company, the 35 served in its role as a pumper for 24 years. The 35 was outfitted with a 12 cylinder engine producing 160 HP at 3500 RPM and a 750 gallon per minute pump. The apparatus was sold in 1959 and replaced with a new LaFrance.

After the truck was found and purchased, great effort was put in restoring it to its condition before the sale. The truck is now housed in the Sub Station and makes appearances throughout the year.

Fun Fact: The paint, clutch and most equipment are the original from 1935!
